Walking tours

From our experience smaller groups work best! In smaller groups your guide has more time to answer all your questions whilst embellishing your experience with a personal touch – including stories from local folklore and revealing the city’s prettiest sights, canals and quaintest cafes and restaurants.

A range of tour items to choose from!
Whilst meandering through the ancient cobbled streets we will see an astonishing array of distinctly Leiden memorabilia:

  • ‘Stadstimmermanswerf’ (City Builder’s Yard of 1612)
  • ‘Rapenburg, one of the city’s most gorgeous a canals,
  • fascinating wall poetry
  • birthplace of famous Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn
  • Leiden Iniversity – the Netherlands oldest university, magnificently situated on the Rapenburg Canal
  • Pieterskerk (St. Peter’s Cathedral)
  • Het ‘Gerecht’ (historical Dutch court)
  • Latijnse school (Latin School).
  • The Alms houses of Leiden.
  • Stadsgbeouw (Leiden City Hall )
  • The tour often concludes with a spectacular view over the ‘Nieuwe Rijn’ canal, in the vibrant heart of Leiden with its lovely waterways, floating terraces, and if you’re lucky – its bustling markets (twice a week).
